LEOMO, Inc. Announces Partnership with Sebastian Weber
Boulder, CO USA & Tokyo, Japan March 23, 2018 — LEOMO, Inc., an emerging developer of innovative sports-based IT devices, today announced a partnership with Sebastian Weber to help develop products and services targeting competitive endurance sports athletes.
LEOMO plans to introduce game-changing solutions for bike fitters, endurance sports athletes, and their coaches in Europe – an initiative already started with cyclists and triathletes in the U.S. and Japan. LEOMO’s pioneering technology is expected to offer valuable insights to optimize athletes’ form, efficiency, and performance and injury privation.
“We are so excited to conduct rigorous real-world testing of protocols with Sebastian and the competitive cyclists he is instructing and to also incorporate feedback based on his advanced coaching methodology as part of our own product development. The work that Sebastian has done is truly groundbreaking, and it is fantastic that the work currently being done through INSCYD human performance analysis software so well aligns with our own strategies. I look forward to a very successful ongoing partnership with Sebastian,” said LEOMO CEO Kunihiko Kaji.
"I’m very excited for this opportunity. LEOMO is a young brand, but their motion analysis technologies, TYPE-R is a perfect complement to power measurement capabilities. I think the TYPE-R will bring the power of motion analysis out of the lab and into our cyclists’ world for the first time, filling a void that’s currently missing in their arsenal. And I am convinced that the TYPE-R will provide valuable insights into our athletes’ motion and give them a competitive edge.” said Sebastian Weber.
SEBASTIAN WEBER has been the head coach of professional cycling teams of the highest ranks for more than 10 years. After his studies in sports science and molecular human biology, Sebastian ran several research projects focused on modeling muscular energy metabolism and its dose-response relationship as an adaptation to cycling training before he became the head sports scientist of the T-Mobile professional cycling team at the age of only 28. Sebastian continued his way in the world of professional cycling as head coach/head of human performance in some of the most successful teams such as Highroad, Columbia, HTC, Katusha, Lotto, and Cannondale.
Subsequently, in 2007 Sebastian founded the STAPS human performance lab in Germany. The methods he applied in his coaching experiences helped his athletes to win numerous victories at the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, the Vuelta, multiple World Championships, and the Olympic medals.
His methods to the applied analysis of energy metabolism ultimately resulted in the creation of INSCYD, a software for the analysis of metabolic performance which aroused the interest of other professional sports, resulting in consulting services in swimming, track cycling, speed skating and football. In 2015, Sebastian invented the get-Aero.com Project, which helps cyclists and triathletes of all levels to race faster due to better aerodynamics.
Coached athletes won several medals at Olympic games and world championships.

- Tony Martin
